Hello, I am Kay Knights, a dressmaker and designer, who is very fortunate to live in beautiful South Devon.

My love of sewing began when I was a child, and I was making my own clothes by the time I was a teenager. Later, I loved designing and making clothes for my children - my son lived in camouflage, and my daughter wore beautiful hand-smocked dresses of my design.

I have worked for an interior design shop, where I assisted customers in choosing fabrics and colour schemes for their homes. I also worked in the sewing room, making a wide range of items. I then had six years experience making dresses for a couture bridal company, using fine fabrics and silks.

Since that time I have been self-employed, initially making curtains and loose covers, which was enjoyable, but I have now returned to my first love of dressmaking, where I enjoy designing dresses, choosing and working with lovely fabrics, and I take great pleasure in helping my customers with their special occasions.
